The Title Insurance Bureau enforces the Insurance Code provisions relating to all aspects of title insurance regulation. This includes the annual setting of uniform premium rates and the promulgation of all policy forms, including endorsement forms. This Bureau also fields title insurance-related complaints from both consumers and the insurance industry.

Underwriter's Reports

 

General Requirement


All licensed title insurers operating in the State of New Mexico shall annually submit an Underwriter’s Statistical Report (USR) reporting income and expenses for the year ended December 31, 2011. Reports shall be submitted to the following address by July 1, 2012:

The 2011 Biennial Title Insurance Rate Hearing

 

Escrow Compliance Procedures

 

Special attention should be directed toward 13.14.4.1-12 NMAC for this year's report.  This is the first year that this requirement will be in place.  All agents providing escrow services must have an independent certified public accountant perform the agreed upon procedures detailed in 13.14.4.11 NMAC.
