Hearing Examiners' Office
Hearing Examiners serve as judges or adjudicators in the cases that are assigned to them, set hearings and conferences, establish procedures and details for the conduct of proceedings, and ensure that a full and adequate case record is established.
Other Hearing Examiner responsibilities include:
•Making rulings on procedural and evidentiary matters•Conducting scheduled hearings
•Admitting evidence into the record
•Analyzing evidence, briefs, applicable laws, and rules and orders
•Certifying stipulations negotiated by parties to the Commission
•Making recommendations and reporting decisions to the Commission, including findings of fact, conclusions of law and ordering paragraphs.
