Matthew Lovato, Division Director/Chief Financial Officer

 

Matthew Lovato is the Chief Financial Officer for the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission.  He leads the Financial Management Bureau of the Administrative Services Division in its mission to provide the PRC with excellent financial management and reporting services.

As a Financial Coordinator for the New Mexico Public Education Department, Matthew provided myriad financial services for 89 school districts.  He supervised a team of financial analysts and successfully managed the day-to-day operations of several federal grants and state appropriations totaling 2.8 billion dollars.

 

Matthew’s professional experience is complimented by a track record of excellent customer service and commitment to teamwork.  He holds a bachelors degree in Financial Management from the University of New Mexico.

 

The Financial Management Bureau maintains the Public Regulation Commission's financial records in full compliance with New Mexico State law and professional accounting and reporting standards.

The Bureau also prepares and presents the agency budget before the Commission and to the appropriate State agencies, and is responsible for budget monitoring throughout the fiscal year.
